Anglican Clergy commends Governor Wike
The Twelfth General Synod of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion has opened in Port Harcourt, with the Primate, the Most Reverend NICHOLAS OKOH presiding.
In his address of welcome, the Bishop of the Niger Diocese of the Anglican Church, IGNATIUS KATTEY called for close partnership between the church and the state.
Archbishop KATTEY also appealed to President MUHAMMADU BUHARI to be fair to all sections of the country and carry everyone along in his administration.
The clergyman particularly commended Governor NYESOM WIKE for giving the church due consideration in the programmes of his administration.
Archbishop KATTEY also expressed the hope that at the end of the conference, the church would be better, as he called on Christians to set good examples on good citizenship for others.
In his opening address, the Primate of the Church of Nigeria thanked the Rivers State Government for providing logistics support, but cautioned delegates to restrain their movement during the period of the conference.

In an address touching on the economy and political life of the country, Most Reverend NICHOLAS OKOH called for increased efforts on diversification of the economy to sustain the gains made on the path of economic recovery of Nigeria.
Rivers State Governor, NYESOM WIKE, is among dignitaries in attendance at the opening ceremony of the Twelfth General Synod of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion in Port Harcourt.
Nigeria’s Vice President, Professor YEMI OSINBAJO who was also invited, but he could not attend due to pressing state duties.
